Suede-Edge 450 GSM Heavy-Duty Microfiber Towel — DUAL TERRY (B)
The DUAL TERRY (B) is the suede-edge variant of our flagship dual-pile microfiber towel — built for the detailer who runs the same towel through dozens of jobs a month and needs the edge construction to keep up. Same 450 GSM dual-pile body, same 70/30 premium blend, with the addition of a 70/30 microfiber suede edge for durability without sacrificing paint safety.
Why suede edge — the best of both worlds
Microfiber towels typically come with three edge types, each with a real tradeoff:
- Edgeless — safest on paint, but the unfinished edges fray and shorten towel lifespan, especially under heavy washing
- Stitched or polyester satin edge — highly durable and cheap to produce, but the band is harder than the towel surface and can scratch clear coat under pressure
- Suede edge — a band of 70/30 microfiber suede, softer than traditional stitched or satin edges, gentle on paint and ceramic coatings, while still protecting the edges from fraying
Suede edge is widely preferred in premium detailing towels because it balances paint safety with long-term durability. It's also the reason DUAL TERRY (B) costs more to produce than the edgeless version. It's the construction detailers usually move to once edgeless towels start wearing out too quickly in heavy rotation — the edge survives where edgeless towels fray, and where stitched-edge towels eventually scratch paint.
Dual-pile construction — same logic as the edgeless DUAL TERRY
Like the edgeless DUAL TERRY, the long plush side spreads pressure across a wider contact area and traps particles deeper into the pile for safer finishing work. The short dense side applies more direct contact for residue lift and coating leveling. Different fiber lengths for different jobs, both on one towel.
Built for heavy rotation
Where the edgeless DUAL TERRY is built for maximum-safety finishing work — ceramic coating leveling, fresh paint correction — the DUAL TERRY (B) is the workhorse for shops running multiple cars per day:
- High wash-count durability — the suede edge resists fraying and pilling that destroys edgeless towels in repeated laundering
- Same paint-safe behavior — soft suede band stays gentle on clear coat, ceramic coatings, and PPF
- Dual-pile construction — long plush side for buffing and soft surfaces, short dense side for residue lift and harder grime
- Built for towel carts, commercial wash cycles, and daily rotation — designed to be used, washed, and used again, day after day
Where it performs best
- High-volume detailing shops — where towels see weekly heavy washing
- Polish and compound removal — handles oily residue across many panels per session
- General detail work — paint, interior, and glass cleanup where towels are constantly folded, dragged, washed, and reused
- Wash bay environments — wet/dry repeated use without edge degradation
Part of the Khemia Plus 70/30 edgeless lineup (with a durable edge)
DUAL TERRY (B) shares the 70/30 premium blend with DUAL TERRY, PREMIUM-300, THE DAILY, and PLUSH-380 — the family signature of Khemia Plus premium microfiber. The suede edge is what sets this variant apart — maintaining the paint-safe behavior of the edgeless lineup while adding the edge durability needed for heavy commercial use.
Two colors for specialized workflow
DUAL TERRY (B) is available in Blue and Grey — pair with the 4-color edgeless DUAL TERRY to build a complete 6-color detailing workflow system: dedicate specific colors to paint, glass, interior, wheels, and heavy-duty tasks. Color separation prevents the cross-contamination that causes accidental swirl marks.
Looking for the edgeless version?
For jobs requiring the maximum possible edge safety — ceramic coating leveling, freshly polished paint, paint correction wipe-downs — see the edgeless DUAL TERRY. Same dual-pile body, no banded edge, available in 4 colors.
Where it doesn't fit your kit
- Maximum-safety finishing work — for the most paint-sensitive jobs (fresh ceramic coating leveling, freshly corrected paint, PPF wipe-downs), the edgeless DUAL TERRY is the safer choice
- Dedicated ceramic coating work — for coating leveling as the primary use, PEARL (80/20 pearl weave) is the specialist
- General multi-purpose detailing — for daily interior cleaning, trim, and screens where heavy-duty edge durability isn't needed, PREMIUM-300 is the more versatile choice at a lower price
- Final glossy buff after waxing — for the no-pressure final shine, PLUSH-380 coral fleece is softer and purpose-built for that step
- Drying after wash — for water absorption, use the DRY line (DRY-1100, DRY-1500, or DRY-2200)
- Wash media (contact wash) — for the wash step, use the CHENILLE MITT
How to use it
Use the short dense side first when removing polish, sealant, or coating residue — fold the towel into quarters so you can flip to a fresh section every panel. After residue is lifted, flip to the long plush side for the final lint-free buff. The suede edge stays safe on paint regardless of how the towel is folded or rotated during use.
Care instructions
Wash separately from cotton with microfiber-specific detergent. Never use bleach or fabric softeners — they degrade the fibers and the suede band's softness. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat. With proper care, a DUAL TERRY (B) maintains its performance and edge integrity through hundreds of professional washes.
