Why 70/30 blend matters

Microfiber blend ratios aren't marketing — they're one of the things that shape how a towel feels and what it's best suited to, alongside GSM, weave, and edge.

70/30 blends carry more polyamide — the softer, more hydrophilic fiber — which makes them plusher and more absorbent. More polyamide is the industry's premium standard for detailing towels, and it's why PREMIUM-300, THE DAILY, and DUAL TERRY are all built on a 70/30 base for paint and sensitive surfaces.

80/20 blends carry more polyester, for a firmer, more hard-wearing feel — a different balance, not a lesser one. A towel's overall tier and best job still come down to weave, GSM, and edge as much as blend: our PEARL is 80/20 yet premium, because its pearl weave makes it the specialist tool for ceramic coating.

Get eight working surfaces from one towel

Fold the towel in half, then in half again. You now have eight clean working faces — four on each side. As one face picks up dirt or saturates with product, rotate to a fresh face instead of dragging the same dirty fibers across the surface. One of the simplest techniques professional detailers use to maximize towel life and reduce contamination — and a habit worth building from your first detail job.

• THE DAILY — 365 GSM. Plusher and more absorbent — the lead for polish removal and leather work

Where another towel is the better tool

• Household and heavy surface cleaning — for general home cleaning and rougher tasks, the ALL PURPOSE (80/20, 35×35 cm, stitched edge) is built to be hard-wearing rather than paint-safe, and is the more economical pick
• Lighter utility jobs — for paint-safe utility work where you don't need a plush pile, LIGHT TERRY (245 GSM, 80/20, edgeless) is the economical choice
• Ceramic coating leveling and residue removal — PEARL's closed-loop pearl weave is the purpose-built tool here. PREMIUM-300 can level and wipe the residue if it's what you have, but PEARL does it better thanks to that weave
• Final glossy buff on freshly waxed paint — PLUSH-380 (coral fleece), or the plush side of DUAL TERRY (450 GSM, dual-sided), are built for that no-pressure final shine
• Wash media (contact wash) — for the wash step, use the CHENILLE MITT
• Drying after wash — for water absorption, use the DRY line (DRY-1100, DRY-1500, or DRY-2200)

How to use it

For interior and trim: spray your cleaner onto the surface (not directly onto the towel), then wipe in straight passes. For screens and optics, work dry or with very lightly dampened sections — never saturate.

For polish removal: apply your polish per the product's instructions, let it haze, then use PREMIUM-300 with light pressure in straight overlapping passes. Use the eight-face folding technique so you're always working with clean fiber.

For general cleaning: damp use lifts most residue; dry use handles dust and light wipe-downs.

Care instructions

Wash separately from cotton with microfiber-specific detergent. Never bleach or fabric softener — both damage the 70/30 fiber structure and degrade the towel's premium handling. Air dry or low heat tumble dry. With proper care, PREMIUM-300 maintains its performance for hundreds of washes.

If you notice minor loose strands after washing, snip them with scissors — it doesn't affect performance.
